Update: Thank you to Carolina Plott Hound for linking!
In yesterday’s article, CCSSO President Questions Testing For Homeschoolers, the question was posed by Dr. Atkinson that perhaps homeschoolers and private schooled children should be taking the same tests as public school children.
Here’s the original tweet:
With choice, should homeschool & private school students have to take the same tests as public school students? If no, why not? #HLR2015

This question has led to some backlash.
Better watch it, ya’ll. You might be accused of bearing false witness.
Some replies:
@slj1965 I am just asking the question? How do you know they are doing better if the same tests are not used for all? — June Atkinson (@DrJuneAtkinson) January 15, 2015
@lovemytwins1019 I support a parent’s right to homeschool their children, but the data you shared is at least 7 years old

@DrJuneAtkinson Hmm. . must be using Common Core Math, that would be 5 years ago, NOT “at least 7”.

@CarmenCLedford @lovemytwins1019 l Should public school students be tested? If so, then why?

Also, apparently this particular mom’s feedback is valued:
@ilinaP I hope you will be at the parent advisory com meeting where I will share a new proposal. Need your feedback. — June Atkinson (@DrJuneAtkinson) January 15, 2015
