North Carolina’s Senator Kay Hagan went dark for nine days during the shut down.

Hagan went dark again over the few past weeks while Americans coast to coast, including North Carolinians, wrestled with Obamacare roll out failures, canceled policies and skyrocketing rates.

Hagan only came out of hiding yesterday evening to tweet what she refused to say during the shut down — well, sort of. Instead of a delay, she’s calling for “extended enrollment”.
#ACA website problems unacceptable. I support extending open enrollment so NC families have time to shop for insurance plan right for them — Senator Kay Hagan (@SenatorHagan) October 24, 2013
Why now? Because she’s in full cover her ass for the 2014 elections mode, folks. Flip-Flop season has begun with a vengeance. Watch as Kay boards the ‘individual mandate delay train‘ along with the other Democrats up for re-election.
new: senior dem source tells me to expect every sen dem running in 2014 to back @JeanneShaheen proposal to delay #ACA enrollment deadline — Dana Bash (@DanaBashCNN) October 23, 2013
Shaheen’s not really calling for a delay, she’s calling for an extension beyond the March 31, 2014 deadline. Shaheen is also up for re-election in 2014 – go figure right? People should pay attention to this deadline and the proposed extension. The penalties are being misconstrued by many.
More on Hagan’s Flip-Flopping
Does Kay Hagan Now Support Delaying The Individual Mandate?
Raleigh, NC – Kay Hagan may be on the verge of making the biggest and most politically-motivated flip-flop in North Carolina’s history. Only three weeks after Hagan refused to delay the implementation of Obamacare and voted to shut down the federal government, Hagan and other vulnerable Senate Democrats now suddenly support delaying Obamacare’s enrollment deadline. Hagan has not yet indicated whether she also supports delaying the individual mandate. Last night, Politico reported:“Democrats facing difficult reelection campaigns in 2014 — Sens. Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Kay Hagan of North Carolina and Mark Begich of Alaska — came out on Wednesday evening in support of extending the open enrollment period of the law, as first proposed by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, who is also up for reelection in 2014.” (Burgess Everett & Seung Min Kim, “Red state Democrats propose changes to Obamacare,” Politico, 10/23/13).
However, less than one month ago, Hagan and other vulnerable Senate Democrats were completely united in their support for Obamacare and rejected attempts to make any changes or delays. Politico even noted at the time that if Democrats backed away, they would be vulnerable to being labeled flip-floppers.
“A contributing factor to the Democratic unity in the Senate is that the lawmakers at risk next year — Hagan, Begich, Pryor and Landrieu — all voted for the health care law in 2010. If the Democrats backed away from that vote, they could become even more vulnerable to charges of flipping sides.” (Sueng Min Kim, “Government shutdown: Red-state Senate Dems stick with their party,” Politico, 9/30/13).
Hagan’s huge flip-flop is almost unbelievable given her status as one of Obamacare’s most outspoken supporters. She recently touted the “positive” impact Obamacare would have on North Carolina once exchanges opened on October 1.

That’s not just a flip-flop, that’s a Triple Lindy.
She’s rightfully getting called out on it too.

#AskKay why she chooses fundraising with lobbyists in DC and now more fundraising in NYC over dealing with North Carolinians struggling with the highest rates in the country under Obamacare.

So where is Kay Hagan’s response to her constituents? Voters like Chris Short of Durham — a Vet whose VA benefits have been affected, leaving him few options to deal with his chronic pain condition. Excerpt:
Yesterday, a bullet on the presentation we were given stated if, “You have received benefits, including prescription drugs, from the Veterans Administration in the last three months,” you will be unable to contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA). This essentially removes my employer’s High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with HSA as an insurance option for my family. It does not make fiscal sense to pay exorbitantly more for coverage without the HSA to ease the financial burden of costly medical treatments. In theory, my family is being excluded from a potential savings of $6,550 per year because of an expectation that the government that broke me has an obligation to fix me.

So who will Kay be responsive to NC or NY ? It’s pretty obvious it isn’t going to be us! The cure is to elect a constitutional conservative that will listen to the people of North Carolina. I believe Dr.Greg Brannon is that man.
