A Moore County Public Schools teacher has been arrested on sex-related charges including sex with a student.

Jilian Lee Reynolds, age 41, was arrested Monday, June 17 and charged with one count of felony indecent liberties with a student and one felony count of a sex act with a student.
Reynolds was taken to the Moore County Detention Center under $150,000 secured bond. Her next legal stop is in District Court today, June 27.
The victim was identified as a current student at Union Pines High School.
Reynolds was hired by the school district originally in July 2002 and left employment in December 2003 according to Catherine Murphy, director of communications for Moore County Schools.
Murphy indicated that Reynolds was rehired in August 2012. She resigned her position as an exceptional children teacher May 23. Just three days prior to her resignation, Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said his office was asked for assistance by the Moore County Schools Police Department to look into a report of an inappropriate relationship between a student and teacher.
At the time of her resignation, Reynolds’ salary was $65,800 a year and, according to state records, Reynolds holds a teaching license that expires June 30, 2019, and covers multiple discipline areas:
- English 9-12
- Language Arts 6-9
- School Administrator: Principal
- Technology Engineering and Design Education -820
- Exceptional Children: General Curriculum (K-12)
- Business Information Technology Education
