Equity my any means necessary.
“White Cultural Dominance”
I had to see this one to believe it. Below is a portion of the Carrboro High mission statement. Emphasis added. (Update: The misspelling of their own name is their doing, not mine. I’ve updated this post with the correct spelling.)
Carroboro High School Core Belief
Vision for Equity and Excellence:
CHS is committed to creating an equitable and respectful educational experience for every student, family, staff member, and parent, regardless of socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, religion, ability level, or post-secondary aspirations. Carrboro High School must be a place where the term “school community” is not a platitude, but a reality. In order to create that reality, the people, families, and neighborhoods that make up our school must embrace each other’s differences and meet in the spirit of fraternity. To that end, our school must facilitate the joining of disparate groups into one school community through endeavors that emphasize our school’s diversity.
Carrboro High School must be willing to face the reality of institutional racism, which exists because of the barriers to equity that come through the ongoing White cultural dominance in America. The pervasive presence of this subtle disenfranchisement must be continually addressed. The faculty and staff at CHS must be willing to engage the question of how race and racism affect our school. While there is no silver bullet for the problems of institutional racism, our faculty, staff, and administration must be willing to consistently and courageously discuss, analyze, and evaluate the issue in order to create the change necessary.
Just out of curiosity. Take a look at the make-up of the student body. Hat Tip to Carolina Plott Hound for the link.

I wonder if NC50 Rep Graig Mayer attended. There is a rather interesting quote of his in a UNC online book called Curagous Conversations on Race inwhich he open declares his disgust of his own skin color and alludes that all whites should as well.
