On July 1, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding sexual allegations. Following an investigation, Criminal Investigation Detectives sought charges against Britney Marie Vernon for three counts felony indecent liberties with a student and three counts felony sex act with a student. The magistrate found probable cause to issue the warrant.

On July 24, 2024, Vernon was served at the Randolph County Detention Center where she was issued a $75,000 unsecured bond.  A first appearance was set for August 12, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
