Kay Hagan’s Past Attacks Coming Back To Haunt Her

What comes around goes around. The rhetoric and charges she leveled at Libby Dole are now coming back to visit Kay Hagan. Looks like Hagan’s facing her own attack lines from 2008.  It’s like a version of A Christmas Carol with all three ghosts being from the past with names like Ineffectiveness, Debt and Record.

The Ghost of Ineffectiveness
FLASHBACK
:  Hagan claimed that no North Carolinian could tell her what Elizabeth Dole had done for the State while she was in the Senate.

“As I travel across this state from one end to the other everybody can tell me who Elizabeth Dole is but without exception they cannot name one thing that she’s done for us here in North Carolina. After winning in 2002 Elizabeth Dole said of her campaign and her new job as a U.S. Senator, ‘I’ve listened around the state I’ve learned I will not let you down,’ so tonight I want all of you to think about the job that she’s done for us over the past six years.”

FLASHFORWARD: Hagan hasn’t done anything for North Carolina.  As of 8/11/14, not a single bill she has sponsored or co-sponsored over the course of her entire term has been passed. Not one.

The Ghost of Debt
FLASHBACK: At that same Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in 2008, Hagan also attack Dole on debt.

“I want you to think about all those times you’ve seen her in our state, all that she’s learned, and all the times that she’s stood up for us and not let us down. When President Bush took office the budget was balanced. Thanks to the poor economic judgment of the Dole-Bush team we are facing skyrocketing debts. Thanks Elizabeth Dole for letting us down.”

FLASHFORWARD: Oh my. I think the majority of Americans would love to go back and undo their Hagan vote about now given the state of our economy under Kay Hagan and Barack Obama.  Our national debt has jumped 60% – which translates to over $7 Trillion.

The Ghost of Her Record
FLASHBACK:
Hagan claims Dole voted with President Bush the majority of the time. Hagan, at the 2008 U.S. Senate Debate against Senator Dole, said that “Voting 92% of the time with the President, whether you support him or not, doesn’t work here in North Carolina.”

FLASHFORWARD: Kay Hagan has voted with Barack Obama 95% of the time. One has to wonder why she’s running away from him on the campaign trail if she backs him so often.

Maybe this is why:
