My Turn: Most Influential Blog Awards – Rules And Nominations

I’ve been placed in the Nominee line for Most Influential Blogger by The Lonely Conservative – I am very humbled. Thank you!

This isn’t a voting related award but rather an acknowledgement by ones peers. I think that means quite a lot.

Here are the rules:

1. Display the award logo on your blog.

2. Link back to the person who nominated you

3. Answer 7 questions decided up by your nominator

4. Nominate ( no limit of nominations ) other bloggers for this award and link back to them.

5. Notify those bloggers of the award requirements.

These are the questions posed by Lonely Conservative and my answers:

1. Why did you start a political blog and when?

I started back in 2009. It was a mixture of disgust over the rampant media bias I was seeing, a need to voice my opinion in some way and provide opposition to the waves of political correctness flowing across the country. Our government was and still is out of control and our media is complicit. My kids are who I stand up for specifically. They are young and I want this nation to be returned to the one I knew as a child.

In a nutshell: It was an outlet to vent frustrations and connect with others who felt the same way.

2. If President Obama invited you to a beer summit, would you attend?

Yes, so I could show him how it’s done.

3. Do you think there is any hope of restoring the United States to a constitutional republic in your lifetime?

In my lifetime? Maybe. In the lifetime of my children? Definitely. I’m blogging for their futures; raising them to remember and continue the fight.

4. If you could visit one nation you have never visited before, what nation would that be?

Egypt, because I doubt any American will safely be able to see it in my lifetime and perhaps my children’s lifetime. Thanks Obama!

5. Do you have a job that isn’t connected to blogging? If so, what is your occupation?

I am a stay at home mom right now. Despite what the Democrat talking heads say, staying at home with one’s kids IS a job. It is the most important job any woman with a family can have and women with employment outside the home have TWO jobs.

6. What book has influenced your life (other than the Bible or Torah) and describe how?

Wuthering Heights. I read it in high school and it stuck with me. The unraveling and stark portrait of the human condition contained in it, for me, was illuminating.

7. How do you like to spend your time when you aren’t blogging or working?

With my kids, reading or at the movies. I am a movie junkie. I’ll watch any piece of crap movie on tv and am a regular at the theaters too.

Like Lonely Con, I will be linking to my nominees latest posts to notify them. I would add both Maggie and Lonely Con to my list without batting an eye, but I want to spread the wealth here. My list is here:

Here are my seven questions:

  1. Why did you start a political blog and when?
  2. What blog or conservative site has had the biggest influence on you?
  3. What two conservative platforms/issues are most important to you and why?
  4. What do you consider to be the biggest threat to our nation today?
  5. If you could pick someone to play you in a movie about your life, who would it be and why?
  6. What is your favorite quote?
  7. If you could have one post you’ve done read by the entire nation, which one would it be?

I’ll link back to those who post their answers~ Stay Tuned!
