A few months ago, I requested information on the Common Core SBAC field tests that went on this past Spring in North Carolina. I asked twice but perhaps it was lost in the shuffle.
I have yet to obtain an answer, so I am putting the questions out on the blog. Perhaps a response will drift in.
I’d like to add to the above question, with regards to parental notification. According to NC statute:
“(b1) The Superintendent shall notify local boards of education by October 1 of each year of any field tests that will be administered in their schools during the school year, the schools at which the field tests will be administered, and the specific field tests that will be administered at each school.”
It would be helpful to see the documentation that went out from DPI to NC Schools with regard to administering this SBAC field test.
I have yet to find a school that told the parents this field test was being administered either.
