Catwoman gets to see a shrink.
TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) — A federal judge Thursday ordered a psychological exam for the Texas woman accused of sending ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in an attempt to frame her estranged husband.
Shannon Richardson’s court-appointed attorney, Tonda Curry, requested the exam, saying Richardson, 35, had displayed “a pattern of behavior” that raised the question about whether she could assist in her defense. Curry’s wrote in a motion that her belief was based on a series of conversations with Richardson, who has been jailed since her June 7 arrest on a charge of sending a threatening communication to the president.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Caroline Craven’s ruling means Richardson, who is six months pregnant, will be evaluated at a medical facility within the federal Bureau of Prisons, possibly within the next 30 days, to determine whether she can assist in her defense.
She claimed her husband was a racist:
“He told them we filed [for divorce], but we haven’t yet. But after all this, I will be soon,” said Shannon Guess. She added that her soon to be ex-husband is “racist and hates Obama.” – IB Times
Looks like she might have been projecting. After all, if you disagree or threaten Obama in any way, the media deems you a racist. Funny how they are so silent on this but instead focused on Democrat Paula Deen? Continue reading
You just can’t make this stuff up.
Last time it was a one time Wayne Newton impersonator framing an Elvis impersonator, now we have a cat woman costume loving actress framing her former military husband. We thought the message in the letter was a bit ‘over the top’.
Via Daily News:
Rogers Guess, who’s appeared on ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Vampire Diaries,’ had last week told authorities that her husband, army veteran Nathan Richardson, was behind the letters. But now authorities have arrested the mother of five for allegedly sending the poison-laced letters herself.
Gee, go figure!
The couple, reportedly expecting their first child in October, had been in the process of getting a divorce, which may have been a factor in Rogers Guess’ initial accusation against her husband.
John Delk, a lawyer for Nathan Richardson, told The Associated Press Thursday that Richardson may have been set up by his wife, in retribution for the pending split.
“There are a lot of factors I’m aware of that indicate (Nathaniel Richardson) was set up in this deal by her,” Delk said. Continue reading
We’ve been following the latest batch of Ricin letters sent to various officials and this morning a person of interest has been named. The previous letters took various twists and turns ala a Lifetime Movie of the week style and we’ve theorized the message in the current set of letters could be seen as a little over the top. While the last batch had an Elvis impersonator framed by a Wayne Newton impersonator, this one has an army vet and actress wife in a bat girl outfit:
Nathaniel Richardson of New Boston, Texas is now being looked at and his residence searched after his wife Shannon Guess, who IBD times is incorrectly reporting as Shannon Glass, contacted authorities Richardson is an army veteran based out of the Red River army depot. No arrest has been made yet.
Texarkana Gazette lays out a timeline. Here are the most recent key points:
Shannon Rogers Guess Richardson called law enforcement after finding the substance, suspected of being ricin. The couple’s home is in New Boston, about 25 miles west of Texarkana.
Updated 11:43 a.m. Federal officials have arrived at the home and asked the media to move back to make way for equipment. FBI and postal inspector officials are outside the home.
Updated 12:35 p.m. Shannon Richardson has been escorted into the Federal Courthouse in downtown Texarkana in the company of several FBI agent. Meanwhile in New Boston, the FBI’s hazardous materials response team has arrived at the Richardsons’ home.
