The Cabarrus Commissioner And The Library Suspensions
More fun at the Cabarrus County Commissioners latest meeting. Morris, Honeycutt and Cabarrus Jobs Now in the news again.
From Jason Oesterreich’s blog:
Time and time again, Commissioner Morris and Cabarrus Jobs Now have been caught lying and deceiving our voters (Commissioner Morris and soon-to-be-commissioner Diane Honeycutt co-founded Cabarrus Jobs Now together as a Political Action Committee).
When evil uses lies and deceit to take power from the innocent and unknowing, we must stand against it.
This morning, the Independent Tribune published an article stating that Commissioner Morris’s lies resulted in two library employees being suspended for 3 days each. Also, in response to such behavior, the county manager had to send out a memorandum to county volunteers and the public stating, “First and foremost I want to apologize for any false, inaccurate, or misrepresentation of factual information that may have been distributed to you from our library staff.” Commissioner Morris used the library staff and our county volunteers to spread lies. http://www.independenttribune.com/news/morris-oesterreich-square-off-over-library-woes/article_5b9a77d8-4714-11e4-943e-001a4bcf6878.html
There’s quite a bit more and video at the link.
Don’t bother going to the Cabarrus Jobs Now site, as of this morning it’s “Down until further notice.” Someone page Diane Honeycutt to get that fixed:

Amendment Would Temporarily Tip The Scales Of Power In Cabarrus
A bill put into play by Senator Fletcher Hartsell (R-36) appears to be trying to manipulate the balance of power on the Cabarrus county Board of Commissioners. The NC Senate passed his amendment this week that would temporarily shift the number of Cabarrus Commissioners from 5 to 7 by adding Diane Honeycutt and Sue Mynatt temporarily. The amendment is part of a bill (HB 1218 / SB 844) that would alter the charter of the city of Monroe in Union County.
The Cabarrus Board of Commissioners was a hot topic during the primary season. Folks should bear in mind that Diane Honeycutt was one of the candidates using the strategy of getting Democrats to party switch to vote for her in the primary. The move to push her and Mynatt into their roles before their term begins is rooted in one thing: counter-balancing the Tea party influence. The Independent Journal sees the same power play at work; emphasis added is mine: Continue reading →

NCGOP To Cabarrus: Rescind Resolution
Encouraging people to swap parties to steer a primary, Democrats dressed up like Republicans — or in some cases “DemoPublicanRepubliCrats” — these are a few of the examples of the mess out in Cabarrus county. The Cabarrus Republican party had had enough and put a resolution out denouncing two candidates and the various tactics being employed. A few days later, the NC GOP told Cabarrus to rescind that resolution claiming it violated party rules.
I reached out to the NC GOP. Here is the statement from Executive Director Todd Poole about it (below). Poole also clarified that the NC GOP ‘received no complaints from any state reps or state elected officials’. about the Cabarrus resolution. Continue reading →

Cabarrus GOP Denounces 2 Candidates
Well, Leigh Brown, a.k.a the Hair, is back in the news.
The Cabarrus County Republican party has denounced her. I’m kind of surprised it took this long. The Cabarrus GOP also denounced Diane Honeycutt. Continue reading →

#NC82 Candidate Wants Democrat Votes?
In case you missed it, The Hair is Leigh Brown of Cabarrus county. This time, it’s not the Governor’s mansion she’s running for. This time the “DemoPublicanRepubliCrat” is challenging Rep. Larry Pittman for his seat in NC 82.
It’s going to be a tough race for her despite the funding from her real estate friends at the Chamber of Commerce. She needs all of her friends to be able to vote for her May 8th.
In order to do that The Hair wants Democrats to change their affiliation. Nope, not kidding: Continue reading →
