Michelle Goldberg takes a page out of Hilary Rosen’s Apolo-attack book

In case you missed it, Michelle Goldberg spent some time the other morning comparing Ann Romney to Hitler and Stalin. Yes, Ann Romney. Again. Mother of 5 boys, breast cancer survivor and who is living with MS. That same one. The Right quickly descended on Ms. Goldberg and rightfully so. Her comments were out of line and hyperbolic to the point of absurdity. Goldberg’s statement from the show:

“You know, yes, motherhood is beautiful,” Goldberg continued. “I found that phrase ‘the crown of motherhood’ really kind of creepy, not just because of its, like, somewhat you know, I mean, it’s kind of usually really authoritarian societies that give out like The Cross of Motherhood, that give awards for big families. You know, Stalin did it, Hitler did it.”

You won’t find that quote in her Daily Beast Apolo-attack on Ann Romney though:

“For the record, I don’t believe that Ann Romney is either Hitleresque or Stalinesque. Rather, I think she is a calculating political wife who once struck me as fairly likeable, but who is now determined to play up the idea that’s she’s being victimized for being a stay-at-home mom.” Continue reading
