The media has been digging over the last six days not only into the release of Bowe Bergdahl, but into the series of events that led up to his “walking away from his post” and what occurred there after. The prisoner swap for Bowe Bergdahl’s release of the “five most dangerous detainees” in GITMO has churned up bi-partisan anger, concerns for our current military serving overseas and questions of constitutionality.
Many in D.C. agree that giving in to the demands of the Taliban for thier version of a command structure “Dream Team” was NOT worth the trade of one soldier with a “questionable” history and alleged desertion charges.

NC Dems Continue Marching Further Left
The North Carolina Democratic Party has had yet another shake up. No, Randy Voller isn’t apologizing for another rape remark, but it does involve him. Chairman Voller has fired manager Robert Dempsey after only nine months on the job, citing ‘personnel issues’. The last personnel issue we saw surrounding Voller was the resignation of Nina Slzosberg-Landis, who took issue with the direction Voller would take the party as well as the methods he used. Members of his own party then called for his resignation. Continue reading
The Boston Marathon bombing has found some closure with the capture of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Stories are running non-stop on he and his brother, Tamerlan, as more information on the pair comes to light. We’d like to return to the original ‘person of interest’, a Saudi national that was being questioned in the hospital after being injured by the blast at the finish line.
Abdulrahman Ali Alharbi is being called the ‘catch and release’ person of interest for a variety of reasons not tied to the actual bombing, but due to his visa, being on the No-Fly list, and apparently was classified with a 212 3B terrorist status by DHS. The Blaze has the details and key points laid out:
For the past week, Glenn Beck has been investigating a Saudi national once identified as a “person of interest” in the Boston Marathon bombing. The story has taken a number of alarming twists and turns, but on his radio program Wednesday, Beck released some of the most interesting information yet.
But first, here are a few background points on how the case developed:
A Saudi national originally identified as a “person of interest” in the Boston Marathon bombing was set to be deported under section 212, 3B — “Security and related grounds” — “Terrorist activities” after the bombing on April 15
TheBlaze received word that the government may not deport the Saudi national — identified as Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi — as the story gained traction on April 18.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano refused to answer questions on the subject by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) on Capitol Hill on April 18, saying the inquiry was “so full of misstatements and misapprehension that it’s just not worthy of an answer.”
An ICE official said April 18 that a different Saudi national is in custody, but that he is “in no way” connected to the bombings.
Key congressmen of the Committee on Homeland Security request a classified briefing with Napolitano on April 22
New info provided to TheBlaze reveals Alharbi’s file was altered on the evening of April 17 to disassociate him from the initial charges
Sources say April 22 that the Saudi’s student visa specifically allows him to go to school in Findlay, Ohio, though he appears to have an apartment in Boston, Mass. A DHS official told TheBlaze Alharbi properly transferred his student visa to a school in Massachusetts.
TheBlaze sources reveal April 22 that Alharbi was put on a terror watchlist after the bombing, andNapolitano confirmed on April 23 that he was briefly on a “watchlist”
There is quite a bit more at The Blaze, be sure to read the whole thing. ConMom has a link-around on Alharbi that might also prove interesting reading.
Gateway Pundit has the White House visitor log showing someone with the same name visiting the White House multiple times. The White House says it is a different Alharbi with the same name and initials. Probably a coincidence, but admittedly a creepy one given the First Lady was seemingly photographed visiting Alharbi in the hospital.
Also of note, though it might mean nothing, is the Facebook Page belonging to Abdulrahman Ali Alharbi bears that name on the cover, but the link to it gives a different last name. Here is the web address to it: https://www.facebook.com/abdulrahman.a.alsulaimi
AlSulaimi? Could be nothing, but it bears following up on.
We’d like to turn your attention now to the alleged ties of the Boston Alharbi to the prisoners in GITMO bearing the same clan name of Alharbi. Liberty Speaks ran down the list of names that came from Walid Shoebat’s blog via Creeping Sharia:
Then you have Al-Harbi clan members in Gitmo:
Salim Salman Awadallah Al-Sai’di Al-Harbi
Majid Abdullah Hussein Al-Harbi
Muhammad Abdullah Saqr Al-Alawi Al-Harbi
Ghanem Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al-Harbi
Muhammad Atiq Uwaid Al-Awfi Al-Harbi
Liberty Speaks found that all of these detainees have been repatriated, according to the Guantanamo Justice Centre:
Salim Salman Awadallah Al-Sai’di Al-Harbi ISN 57: Repatriated to Saudi Arabia in December 16th, 2006
Majid Abdullah Hussein Al-Harbi ISN 158: Repatriated to Saudi Arabia February 20, 2007
Muhammad Abdullah Saqr Al-Alawi Al-Harbi ISN 536: Repatriated to Saudi Arabia February 20, 2007
Ghanem Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al-Harbi ISN 516: Repatriated to Saudi Arabia July 15th, 2007
Muhammad Atiq Uwaid Al-Awfi Al-Harbi ISN 333: Repatriated to Saudi Arabia Nov. 9th, 2007
Liberty Speaks also found a 6th that was not on the original list from the Creeping Sharia article referenced above:
6. Tariq Sallah Hassan Al Harbi ISN 265: Repatriated to Saudi Arabia June 24th, 2006
Also of note, Obama had a meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister two days after the bombing, but kept it off his public schedule – suggesting it was impromptu. The White House said it was a meeting regarding Syria. Tom Donilon, the National Security Advisor was present.
There’s something very off about all of this — off and unsettling. Did this Alharbi person have something to do with what happened in Boston or was he just in the wrong place at the right time, which put him under the microscope and ultimately exposing there are serious issues with our immigration and visa system?
Holy. Finger. Pointing. Batman.
This administration is really making a dogs dinner out of Benghazi. I’d like to offer a pro-tip to them: don’t try and throw Hillary under the bus. I’m just sayin’… and Zilla agrees, Obama Doesn’t Have A Big Enough Bus. Hillary and Bill won’t take this lying down. Mrs. Clinton is already out on defense, who she is really defending will remain to be seen: Hillary Clinton Breaks Silent Streak on Benghazi Attack
Clinton agreed at an earlier appearance Friday, speaking to reporters alongside Italy’s foreign minister.
“We do not have all the answers. No one in this administration has ever claimed otherwise.”
“We are providing the best information we have at that time and that information continues to be updated, it also continues to be put into context and more deeply understood through the process we are engaged in,” she said.
There are three separate investigations into the attack going on now: an FBI probe into the deaths of the four Americans, an independent inquiry by a panel appointed by Clinton and the congressional hearings.
Indeed. Perhaps if Obama had attended his intel briefings and had not gone to bed before knowing Ambassador Stevens’ fate maybe he could have claimed otherwise. Doesn’t the buck stop here?[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7C7fq9b7sM&feature=em-uploademail-new]
Oh and Joe, tossing that dog mess in a flaming brown paper bag at the CIA during the VP debate? Yeah, not so smart. They’re pushing back too. The President has just renewed rather gruesome thing, emphasis added:
Presidential Memorandum — Presidential Determination with respect to the Child Soldiers Prevention Act of 2008
MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE
SUBJECT: Determination with Respect to the Child Soldiers Prevention Act of 2008
Pursuant to section 404 of the Child Soldiers Prevention Act of 2008 (CSPA) (title IV, Public Law 110-457), I hereby determine that it is in the national interest of the United States to waive the application of the prohibition in section 404(a) of the CSPA with respect to Libya, South Sudan, and Yemen; and further determine that it is in the national interest of the United States to waive in part the application of the prohibition in section 404(a) of the CSPA with respect to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to allow for continued provision of International Military Education and Training funds and nonlethal Excess Defense Articles, and the issuance of licenses for direct commercial sales of U.S. origin defense articles; and I hereby waive such provisions accordingly.
You are authorized and directed to submit this determination to the Congress, along with the accompanying Memorandum of Justification, and to publish the determination in the Federal Register.
What the deuce?! He signed this bill into law when he was in the Senate. How far we have come… and look, it’s tied to Yemen. Again. The bulk of the GITMO detainees are of Yemen origin and the ones listed to be released nearly all are.
Via ABC news:
Tens of millions of dollars of U.S. military financing will continue to flow to Yemen and three other countries that recruit and use child soldiers, despite a 2008 U.S. law designed to restrict U.S. taxpayer funding of foreign militaries that enlist children to fight in war.
The White House issued a memorandum Tuesday evening to allow military funding to Yemen, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Chad, three of the six countries on the State Department’s list of foreign governments that recruit and use child soldiers in state-backed armed forces and militias.
Human rights advocates say the presidential waivers, issued for a second year in a row, undermine the intentions of Congress.
The article goes on to do some cheer leading of this move citing the drone strike that killed Anwar al-Awlaki – a US Citizen member of Al Qaeda. How that is an excuse to remove sanctions on child soldiers is beyond me. Here is Obama releasing adult prisoners to return to that life in Yemen and simultaneously removing restrictions (not that they were ever followed) on who they rebuild their army with when they return home.
More from the ABC article:
The State Department has requested $35 million in foreign military financing for the Yemeni government for the 2012 fiscal year. The aid represents one portion of the total military, security and other assistance to the country, which has exceeded $100 million annually in recent years.
Those are our tax dollars, folks. We saw what grateful allies they are.
Congress is ticked; Obama is doing all he can without them again:
Congress has no intention of letting this scenario play out again next year. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), vice chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health and Human Rights, successfully added an amendment to the Trafficking Victims Protection Act reauthorization bill today that would force the administration to give Congress 15 days notice before issuing waivers for the child-soldier penalties. – The Cable, ForeignPolicy.com

Flashback to 2010, Robert Gates trots out and announces $150 million in aid to Yemen to fight terrorism. Clearly that worked since a year later, Gates comes out worried about a possible collapse of the Yemen government who now has $150 million of our dollars – or rather the former long-time President, Ali Abdullah Saleh, now probably has our $150 million. SCAPEGOATING NAKOULAS: “He’s going to be confined in a special unit where he’d be in a solitary cell, locked up alone and in maddening isolation.”
Remember all the people who were upset when this happened to actual terrorists? They’re nowhere to be heard now, when it’s being done to someone whose role is scapegoat for the White House’s national-security ineptitude.

Anderson Cooper decided to do his job on Friday (probably because CNN was about to be thrown under the bus by the White House) and announced CNN had obtained Ambassador Stevens journal from the burned out Consulate in Libya. Cooper also admitted CNN used it for reporting purposes, after telling the family they would not, 4 days later.
On Saturday the 22nd, CNN released its version of events on how they came by the journal. The report is short and does not mention exactly who the journal was turned over to, but instead only mentions a ‘third party’. The Saturday CNN journal report also repeats the lie that the Consulate was attacked in relation to anti-islam movie protests in the region. The entire thing is a cover your ass type move.
Let’s timeline this a bit: Continue reading
