If you’ve been following along in my journey to obtain the “10,000” comments, you know I’ve been looking for these pieces of feedback ever since Dr. Atkinson mentioned them.
Atkinson also commented during the course of the legislative research commission that there were “60,000 teachers” involved in the revision of the standard course of study. She was very vague and never brought that item up again. As of this moment, I don’t believe that there are “60,000 teachers” involved in any set of feedback for any course of study past or present. Yesterday, the North Carolina House passed the conference committee version of SB 812. Within hours, Governor McCrory was out making a statement about how he’ll sign it but it doesn’t change anything. The NC Chamber of Commerce’s Gary Salamido had a similar message. They both talk about this ‘backdoor’ to keep what they like and I’ve addressed this before but will revisit it after we take a look at what was said.

The News and Observer has printed another one of her little screeds. The News and Observer even let her ramble on as long as she wanted, per this text at the bottom, “The length limit was waived to permit a fuller response to the issue.”
