The pair were arrested at 616 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, which is the address for a popular nightspot known as The Village Nightlife Complex bar.

Both were charged under N.C. statute 12-144, intoxicated and disruptive in public. The charge is a Class 3 misdemeanor that carries a sentence of 1 to 20 days of active, intermediate, or community punishment and a $1,000 fine.

Olive is the Apex High School varsity baseball coach. His hire was announced on the school’s website in July of 2020. According to that announcement, Olive is a 2015 graduate of Apex High School.

Chiarolanzio is a member of the Apex High School Special Education department.

Both hold current teaching licenses according to state records. Both licenses expire in June of 2022.

Chiarolanzio is licensed in the areas of Exceptional Children: General Curriculum (K-12) and Exceptional Children: Adapted Curriculum (K-12).  Olive holds a license for Exceptional Children: Adapted Curriculum (K-12) and Health and Physical Education.

Olive and Chiarlanzio are the tenth and eleventh educator arrests logged by this website in 2021.

A request for comment from the district resulted in a response that both teachers have been suspended with pay pending a review.
