Video of a man defending his Second Amendment rights during the public comments portion of a recent Greensboro City Council meeting has gone viral.

Mark Robinson did not bring prepared remarks to the meeting but had a blistering response to speakers who had preceded him and essentially nuked the gun-grabby City Council members.

“I’ve heard a whole lot of people in here tonight talking about this group and that group, domestic violence and blacks, these minorities and that minorities, but what I want to know is, when are you all gonna start standing up for the majority?” said Mark Robinson.

“And here’s who the majority is: I’m the majority,” Robinson said pointing a finger at his chest. “I’m a law-abiding citizen who never shot anybody, never committed a serious crime, never committed a felony. I’ve never done anything like that.”

But it seems like every time we have one of these shootings no one wants to blame… put the blame where it goes which is at the shooter’s feet,” said Robinson. “You want to put it at my feet. You want to turn around and restrict my rights – Constitutional Rights, spelled out in black and white.”

Robinson didn’t stop there and went on to blast  some of the remarks made by other attendees, saying that the idea of them wanting to strip him of his Constitutional Rights was “ridiculous” and that “Rod Serling couldn’t come up with a better script.”

Turning his attention to the City Council, Robinson then asked what they were going to do after they disarmed citizens and the criminals still have their guns.

Robinson warned that if the City Council tried to take his right to bear arms away, he’d “come down to this City Council and raise Hell just like these loonies from the Left do until you listen to the majority of the people in this city.”

Earlier in the public comments portion, two of the members of March for Our Lives Greensboro made speeches that they likely had help writing. Both of them are riddled with falsehoods and the typical anti-gun talking points like the long debunked ‘gun show loophole’.

The first speaker was, in fact, Anne Joy Cahill-Swenson, one of the Leaders of March for Our Lives Greensboro. Her speech, without question, was the worst offender in terms of false gun information. She’s only 14.

She lists the group’s goals, which is a good thing since neither their Facebook page nor their website has anything resembling a goals list. The website for the group is registered to a federal public defender and Democrat named Kathleen Gleason; likely the mother of one of the group’s leaders, Nico Gleason.

The first goal given starts out fairly rational but then it went off the rails.

The first goal was funding for mental health research as it relates to shootings and guns. This is where the conversation should be going and not towards an inanimate object.

But before spending the money on this from her group’s Go Fund Me account (controlled by yet another mom of one of the leaders) Ms. Cahill-Swenson might want to know that President Obama, despite the Dickey Amendment, commissioned a $10 million dollar CDC report on guns after Newtown.

The point of the study was to “to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.”

“Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals” was one of the main findings of the CDC’s report.

Other findings:

1. Gun-use is the safest of studied “self-protective strategies
2. Suicide accounts for most firearm deaths
3. Felons who use guns very seldom obtain their guns by stealing them
4. There is no evidence that gun restrictions reduce gun violence

Her goals list went right off the rails after that.

Cahill-Swenson stated her group wanted more funding for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) so that the ATF could have a searchable gun database because “we tell the government we have a car, why should we be able to have guns in secret?”

I nearly fell off my chair when she said that.

As much as we love our cars, they are not the same as firearms when it comes to privacy of information. That information could easily and would easily be leaked – it’s happened before but you were 11 years old at the time. Where do we draw the line on how much the government can track what you own?

Also, Ms. Cahill-Swenson, what exactly are you trying to stop with a giant searchable gun registry?

It would have zero use for stopping criminals, they don’t register weapons.

It would have had zero effect in the Parkland case as multiple law enforcement agencies didn’t do their jobs.

It would only have a purpose if you wanted to track legal gun owners and perhaps it could be used to confiscate their weapons. In that case, welcome to Nazi Germany.

Cahill-Swenson also mentions universal background checks which will do nothing to deter gun crime.  Here’s a fun truth bomb for her:

“When it comes to the issue of background checks, let’s be honest: Background checks will never be ‘universal’ because criminals will never submit to them.”

Aa high capacity magazine ban, which according to her is anything over 10 bullets, and a ban on semi-auto rifles were also on the list.

“These weapons of war are useless for hunting but only good for killing the maximum number of people,” said Cahill-Swenson about semi-auto rifles.

Wait, which is it? Are semi-auto rifles useless or weapons of war?  She clearly has no idea.

Ms. Cahill-Swenson puts the cherry on top by slamming the upcoming gun show in Greensboro and then makes the tired, trite and false claim that people can buy “weapons of war” there “without background checks.”

The vast, vast majority of the vendors who attend these shows are fully licensed firearms dealers. That means they must run the F.B.I. background check at the time of purchase. What Cahill-Swenson and her gun grabby friends really want to get are the private gun transactions between individuals or family members.

Another member of March for Our Lives Greensboro who gave remarks was Dominic Patafie. I might have taken him more seriously had he not been wearing a smarmy David Hogg-esque smirk through most of his commentary.

He also had no idea what he was talking about. I frankly couldn’t listen to him more than one time without wanting to bang my head on my desk, so sorry folks, but no quotes or transcript on this one.

While most were there to bash guns, some of the commenters there to defend the Second Amendment and provide some factual information.
Andy Stevens of Grass Roots North Carolina. His remarks were calm, metered and took aim specifically at the Greensboro City Council members for disparaging instead of praising our Constitution and the rights it contains.

Christopher Oats, the gun show representative for Winston Salem also took a turn at the podium.

Oats listed the extensive firearm training he has had over the years and how with “all this advanced training, the second I set foot on a college or other educational campus it somehow magically doesn’t count anymore” and that he is “no longer trusted to have the same side arm on me that I carry everywhere else.”

Oats called that situation of gun free zones “the height of absurdity” and then went on to call out Mayor Vaughn for her remarks about trying to cancel the show if the council could not “regulate what was being sold.”

Oats cited the state statute that Vaugh would be violating if she attempted to act on her remarks and that according to the law, his organization not only could sue her and the council for damages but for fees and court costs as well.
