LL1885’s Year In Review: April

In April, the Obama administration had to admit it was using drones to target terror suspects.

In China, the Bo Xilai scandal erupted.

Iran really wants to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador.

The Secret Service had to have chaperones to keep them from patronizing hookers and getting drunk on the job in what would be called Hookergate. The Secret Service also harassed rocker Ted Nugent for being Anti-Obama.

The GOP sought contempt of Congress charges against Eric Holder for stonewalling in the Fast and Furious investigation. GOP also managed a $46 million tax cut for small business over the President’s objections.

On the Hill, they traded SOPA for CISPA.

The NLRB continued to wage war on business and right to work laws.

Unemployment hit 8.3%, but it was much worse if you looked at the real number. Obama used a variety of diversions to avoid doing his job this month.

We saw Solyndra Part II as Solar Trust of America filed for bankruptcy.

John Edwards was on trial for alleged misuse of campaign funds to support his mistress, Rielle Hunter. Edwards called her a “crazy slut” when he was told she was pregnant. War on women!

Romney geared up for the general election campaign. Gingrich ended his. All eyes turned to Ohio. Obama hits key battleground states early and mentions Bin Laden a lot.

George Zimmerman was arrested and charged with murdering Trayvon Martin and he made bail at 150k. Meanwhile, violence inspired by the shooting began to crop up around the country. Some supporters of Trayvon, like the Black Panthers, were more vocal than others. NBC was caught falsely editing the 911 tape.  I kept track of it all: The Martin/Zimmerman Chronicle Thread

Shootings in Chicago continued.

Abroad, the green on blue killings began to escalate in Afghanistan. North Korea tested long range missiles. Things in Syria got bloody enough to warrant UN observers.

ALEC was under siege by the Left using their favorite tactic: boycotts.

Hilary Rosen waged her own little war on women – specifically Ann Romney and stay at home moms.  Rosen was so sorry she apoloattacked.  Apparently, to Rosen, stay at home moms “don’t count“.

Keith Olbermann was fired again. Good riddance, Jackass.
