The Morning Links (11/7/12) – Taking A Break.

Dear Readers,

I’ve provided morning news links and stories for over two years now. I will be taking a break, indefinitely, from doing the Morning Links. My last story post was a running blog on the election last night. You can read it here.

Last night, Barack Obama was re-elected. I’ve fought the good fight day in and day out against media bias and this administration’s attempts to fundamentally transform this nation. That fight was lost last night – temporarily.  I’d be lying if I said I was any less than feeling lost and rather scared right now. I do not think I am alone. Having said that, we have an opportunity in two years to reclaim the Senate. There is still Obamacare to deal with and Benghazi is not going away, even though the administration and the media loyal to it will do everything in their power to quash it.

My job here blogging has been one of inspiration, courage and attempting to revive the core of what this nation was founded on. I believe that core is still there, however many in this nation are still unable to see the past for years for the failure they have been. Perhaps in the next four, more eyes will be opened. In the meantime, I would encourage everyone to take stock of their personal lives – everything from finances to personal and home protection. We saw what this President was capable of in the first four years and now he has nothing to stop him in the next four. May God have mercy on this nation.

I credit Governor Romney with presenting a campaign any candidate could be proud of. He ran it on the issues and not petty, divisive tactics and personal attacks. He should know that I still believe and that my eyes are still clear and my heart is still full. God bless him.

I will be taking a break from LL1885 for a while. There are personal considerations at work here that are unrelated to the turn of political events. My children have always been my prime concern and chief job — I am first and foremost a mom and wife. My duties there must be fulfilled first. I also have fiction writing that I have neglected over the last three years that I will be turning my attentions to as well. I hope my readers will embrace those efforts as much as they have this blog. I am not abandoning LL1885 and will still post on occasion.  I thank everyone who has followed me thus far from the bottom of my heart. I am humbled by your attentions and honored you hold the opinions here in good esteem.

Anyone wishing to reach me can email me at

God bless,

PS – I am not done. #WAR

  1. LOL. “Depraved” comments and incivilities? Please. I pointed out that your posting about t-shirts was in error and provided a link to support that. You removed the link. So much for the truth. Oh, and I commented that calling the supposed misspelling “Ebonics” was opening one up to charges of racism. I did not call anyone a racist. But somehow just pointing out the truth was playing the race card.

I am proudly and loudly liberal. Call it what you will. President Obama is not a saviour. He is the President, because I and many others voted with our hearts and our heads.

    • You indeed did call one of the other users a racist, ma’am. You were wrong on both occasions and proved yourself lacking anything resembling a sense of humor.

You voted with your heart, not your head. Try to be honest if only with yourself at the very least. NO ONE can rationalize voting for Obama with their HEAD given his record. You’re very deluded.

I won’t be approving any more of your comments. This post was meant to mark time off, but instead I find myself in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent. You’re not worthy of any more of my time.

  2. Put aside even the economic horror this president has unleashed on this country and look only at his foreign policy — or lack thereof. His excess of drone strikes. His tossing aside of the Constitution and due process- leading to the assassination of american citizens abroad and the murder of 4 of them while he did NOTHING. His policy has been one of snubbing our allies and embracing those who wish us harm. He has weakened this nation in the eyes of the world. He is a disgrace – an empty suit with a chip on his shoulder tied to taking this nation down a few notches.
An empty chair with contempt for American exceptionalism.

He gets no respect from me because he deserves none.

  3. Sweet lady, take the break and regroup/refocus. We all need one. My wife and I are already seeking options to finalize our “plan-b”. She looked at me this morning and flat out said that she was serious and wasn’t just entertaining my hyperbole.

In the meantime, please take a look at my last article.

Me, I’m a workaholic. My break will be for about 20 minutes today while I cook something and/or play Angry Birds. After that, I already have a story to finish.

I’m not done. I just may be relocating to “the gulch”. #WAR

    • I’ve been going 24/7 365 for years now. Definitely need a breather and re-grouping time. I love your blog and will continue to follow it – meeting and befriending conservatives like yourself has sustained me. I’ll be posting here and there, but the Morning Links I used to churn out need to be sidelined for the time being. I know a lot of people are going to be disappointed but they are labor intensive & my kids/family need my attention now more than ever.

Plan B is definitely under discussion here as well.

I am still in this #WAR. Bring on the next Blog con. I’m there with bells on.

  4. LInda M. says:

I see the “adults” are coming out of the wood work. When you are ready to come back LL, we will be with you to fight the good fight. Clear eyes, full hearts. The Lord knows what He is doing.

  5. Den says:

Hey Suze, go get your freebees….oops.. maybe not.

    • Sorry Den. I do not need that assistance. I am fortunate to be self-employed and, in fact, to be able to employ others. However, I also realize that anyone is just an accident or serious illness away from needing assistance. There but for the grace of God goes any one of us.

      • I will expect you to recognize this as the food stamp rolls continue to grow, unemployment continues to remain appalling and businesses begin shutting down one by one as taxamageddon and obamacare roll through.
You’re so holier than thou and so clearly clueless.

      • By the way, thanks for having the decency to not troll the day after the election. Yes. That was sarcasm.

  6. Yup. Take a break. We won, which means America won despite the lies and distortions of the right wing nuts.

    • How very gracious the Left is in their hollow victory. Fitting comment for the campaign of binders, big bird and women in vagina costumes. You should be congratulated for advancing this nation further down the road to being a quasi-socialist nation ala European style like Greece or Spain.
      Bravo indeed.

By the way, enjoying your ban from my FB page? 🙂

      • Not nearly as much as you are enjoying having banned me. Had you been gracious or even willing to engage in civil discourse during the campaign, one might be expected to extend that courtesy to you. No trolls here. I am openly commenting with my real name. I respect everyone’s rights to disagree. What I do not respect are the character slurs and lies directed toward our President. I love this country and always have- even when W was president. I never questioned that W or even you also love this country. I expect that same respect to be given to the sitting President of the United States. I am proud that Americans stood up for moving forward as a strong, generous and compassionate nation- one that cares about ALL people. Our President was gracious in his victory saying about Mitt Romney “We may have battled fiercely, but it’s only because we love this country deeply and we care so strongly about its future.” I am very sorry that you view his re-election as disaster. I would say that I know you will be proven wrong. However, I suspect that what you believe is a disaster is very different from that of the Americans who re-elected him.

      • Yes, I enjoyed it. How quickly you forget your own depraved comments and incivilities which earned you that ban. Your hypocrisy is sadly not astounding but par for the course for someone backing a president who campaigned on fear, loathing and the raping of the taxpayers to pay for a growing entitlement driven society partly of his own making. Liberalism is indeed a disease. You have it. Seek help.

This president has been shown the same level of respect he has shown to this nation, which is near nil.

I hope I am proven wrong, however with the last 4 years as the recorded template for this president – I know I am not wrong. The Americans who re-elected him did so with their hearts and not with their heads. They still want to believe he’s a saviour when the truth is he is far, FAR from it.
