The Chicago death toll has risen to 267.

Two 16-year-old boys were killed, and four other people were wounded, in separate shootings within hours on the South Side.

One of the 16-year-olds, Nathaniel Gonzalez, was standing on the sidewalk in the 5900 block of South Laflin Street in the Englewood neighborhood when someone in a dark-colored car opened fire around 3:45 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.

Gonzalez, of the 4700 block of South Damen Avenue, pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. Police had no other details.

Six hours later, two boys ages 16 and 17 were shot in an alley in the 7500 block of South Paulina Street in the Gresham neighborhood, police said.

Jamauri Askew, 16, of the 1700 block of West 75th Street died at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The 17-year-old boy was in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

The gunman stepped out of a car and started shooting, then sped away, police said.

About two hours later, a 19-year-old girl and 23-year-old woman were shot in the 7500 block of South Vernon Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood, police said. The 19-year-old was shot in the leg and was in serious condition at Christ Medical Center and the older woman, shot in the torso, was in serious condition at Stroger.
