Hello? Is this thing on?
Does anyone care that there are over 260 people dead from shootings in Chicago in a little over 7 months?
Adding this new 3 in, the Death Toll now stands at 267.
Details from Chicago Tribune:
Ten people were shot and three people died across the city Thursday night — eight of them in a two-and-a-half hour window between about 4:10 p.m. and 6:35 p.m.
Police responding to a shots fired call found an 18-year-old man “unresponsive” in the 10600 block of South Champlain Avenue about 2:05 a.m. Friday with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. Someone reported hearing two “pops” but police didn’t have any other information. The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Zachary Barrios, of the 9700 block of South Albany Avenue.
Two 20-year-old men were shot, one fatally, in the 1300 block of West 48th Street about 4:07 p.m., police said. Sergio Garcia, of the 4700 block of South Ada, died at John H. Stroger Jr., Hospital of Cook County after getting shot three times in the leg, authorities said. The other man was shot in the thigh and is in stable condition at Mount Sinai Hospital. They were standing on a sidewalk when someone in a passing dark van opened fire and police believe the shooting is gang related, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
At about 5:05 p.m. an 18-year-old man driving a car in the 4800 block of South Hamlin Avenue was shot in the back by someone that pulled alongside him, Alfaro said. The teen was initially taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. A spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Ricardo Alcantra, of the 5200 block of South Richmond Street.
The youngest shot this time was 15 years old. The boy is in critical condition.
